Grab a set of heavy-ish dumbbells for this total body, push-pull dumbbell workout.
The Workout
Whenever I create a total body workout, I think about balance. I want movements to compliment one another, so where there is a “push,” there will also be a “pull.”
Likewise, I try program efficient workouts to fit busy lifestyles (hello, mom life). That means most exercises are compound movements, using as many muscle groups as possible.
Intensity over duration; quality over quantity. This type of training suits my goals and schedule for now (you can read more about that HERE).

Short and {Not So} Sweet
It’s not that I wouldn’t love to exercise longer, or work on skills. There’s always room for improvement, right? It’s that in this particular stage of my life, quick, intense workouts coupled with lots of walking (Cooper needs his exercise too) work best.
My kids are on the move…a lot, and one little guy needs constant supervision.
My kids won’t be this little long, so I’m learning (slowly) to let things go and savor being their mom, even when I’m completely exhausted!
Your turn:
Do you like total body workouts? Or, do you split up your training?
