How did you get started in fitness?
I have always been involved in athletics since I was a young girl. I earned an athletic scholarship and ran collegiate track and field at Troy State University. After college I continued to workout as a healthy lifestyle and in 2009 I was approached by another member at the gym. He told me about the local NPC fitness and bodybuilding competitions and in 2010 I made a New Year’s resolution to get on a competitive stage. I earned my Professional Status in 2011.
How do you stay motivated in your career?
At first it was easy to get motivated because it was all new and I had 20 pounds to lose. The second year I competed it was harder for me. I would tell myself that I would just work off the pizza at the gym tomorrow. Currently in my fourth year I am back to motivating myself because I have seen the changes and now it’s about sculpting my body and tweaking the certain body parts. I have a certain expectation of myself after earning my professional status in 2011 and feel that I should be within 5-7 pounds of my competition weight. I always have a goal to walk across the Olympia stage. In 2012 I qualified and was on stage with the best of the best. I was even the Bikini Pro Rookie of the Year. In the following years I have fallen short of qualifying. Every year it is hard to stay relevant in the industry. So many more women have looked at me and realized they can be a part of this industry. Even though I am a competitive person when I see someone that I have helped succeed this is just as motivating.
What’s your favorite music to work out to?
I listen to such a variety of music. Basically anything that has a good beat and turns my mood into a workout machine.
What’s your favorite cheat meal?
I love pizza and waffles.
How do you deal with cravings?
I avoid buying anything at the store for later. If it’s at the house I have made up an excuse that I have to eat it now so I won’t eat it when I can’t which ends up being when I shouldn’t. SO when I can eat it I will get it out at a restaurant instead.
What does your diet consist of?
I eat high lean protein, moderate carbs and healthy fats. I need a lot of energy for my workouts and do not miss out on carbohydrates. I believe crash diets are very damaging for some girls and for others work. I would hate to be the girl it didn’t work for and cause damage to my body.

Hamstring curls, stiff leg deadlifts and one arm dumbbell rows… something just sexy about doing them oh and they create a nice shape
