I am so excited to be working with Fitness Gurls, I have followed Fitness Gurls for a long time and love the online articles and I find the athletes incredible and inspiring. I believe that Fitness Gurls is the ideal fit for me because it gives me the opportunity to do what those girls have done for me. I hope to inspire and spread my knowledge to other women across the world.

How did you get started in the fitness industry?
I always wanted to make it in the modeling industry. After being turned down by a fashion agency, I didn’t want to give up on my dream so I looked for other areas in the modeling world and came across some of the top fitness models we have today and thought that was a much more suited area of the industry for me. My best friend was just getting into weight lifting at the time so I thought I would join her and get myself a diet and training regime. Next thing, I was hooked.

What is the most challenging thing about being a fitness model?
There are many different challenges of being a fitness model; sometimes feeling run down due to the hard work and diet, sometimes keeping up with social media can be challenging and other times it will be social/family events that might clash with work or be at peak diet time. But, when you love what you do… is it really a challenge?

What products and supplements do you swear by?
Prosupps Mr. Hyde, because I am addicted to caffeine! I’m kidding, but I do love a good boost now and again. I don’t swear by any products because I believe I should be able to get everything I need for my goals from food. The one constant that I always take is Prosupps HydroBCAA, it’s amazing for repair and recovery and the lemon and lime flavor is unreal!

Do you ever encounter stereotypes with the way you look?
Not really, I like to talk to people as much as I can so people can get to know me without feeling the need to stereotype. I’m sure people do behind my back, it’s human nature! But I haven’t had much said to my face. The occasional comment on social media about my muscularity, but that really isn’t very often!

What is your current training style, routine or split?
I have a split training routine, I always have and I enjoy it that way!

What are your favorite clean foods and splurge foods?
My favorite clean foods are chicken and sweet potato, I could eat that all day long! In terms of splurge foods, I love clean eating all year round when it comes to savory. I love GBK (a British burger restaurant), but I tend to get a grilled chicken burger without the bun and sweet potato fries still! I have a real sweet tooth which is what gets me… skittles, chocolate raisins, and Reese’s Pieces are my favorites. 🙂

You’re known for your beautiful glutes. What are your go-to exercises for glutes?
I love a good old heavy sumo squat, it is always a staple in my glutes program. My best piece of advice is activation… make sure you can really feel your glutes firing before you even start your workout. Every single rep you do during a glutes workout, you should feel in your glutes and if someone was watching they should be able to see the muscle engage.

If you were trapped on an island, what 3 things would you bring with you?
Can I take Bear Grylls? Otherwise, my dog, a mattress and my dressing gown.

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
I guess bungee jumping? I love a bit of adrenaline!

What tips do you have for a beginner at the gym?
Don’t be nervous! If something looks confusing, ask someone or do some research. Everyone was a beginner once, I remember when I hadn’t the foggiest what a smith machine was! Do your own thing and don’t worry about what others think. The majority of the time they don’t even notice you are there.
