Fitness Gurls Instagram Pics Of The Week

The best from Team Fitness Gurls Instagram post of the Week.

I posted this picture and the below caption a year ago today. There are 40 semifinalists anxiously waiting to find out whether they made it the final round of the @bodybuildingcom Spokesmodel Search. So exciting and so nerve wracking! #Repost: Tonight I am sitting at my dining room table reflecting on the last week…. I feel so incredibly blessed. It has been a bit of a blur and a complete rush to be selected as a global semi-finalist for Bodybuilding.com's Spokesmodel Search. It's interesting to think how this has all evolved. My passion for weight lifting began with absolute tragedy. After the 2013 Boston Marathon I was physically and emotionally wounded. I had tore my meniscus running the race and almost lost my parents at the finish line. It was a lot to process and my outlet (running) was no longer a viable option. I needed to work through my emotions and continue to be active…. so I went to @bodybuildingcom and looked for a beginners weight lifting program. That's when I found @jamieeasonmiddleton. I loved how strong she looked. I watched videos and looked at pictures and started lifting. It quickly became my new favorite thing… almost as good as a runner's high. Fast forward 2.5 years and here I am. What a crazy journey! One that I could not have done with out my support system of family and friends. To my amazing parents, THANK YOU. Thank you for supporting me when I wanted to be a zoologist, a radiologist, a photojournalist, a technologist, and now a fitness spokesmodel. You are forever in my corner. To my badass little bro, bud you are going places. You are a force to be reckoned with and you inspire me every damn day, whether you know it or not. To my amazing friends, thank you for being my cheerleaders and blowing up social media and forcing your coworkers to vote for me. You brighten my life every day. To all of you who I don't interact with on a daily basis, thank you for inspiring ME. I love seeing your lives through social media. Your rehabs and travels and successes and transformations inspire me to be my #BestSelf. Thank you for being you and pursuing what you love!

Day after photoshoot and it's back to the usual grind for a few days at least. (Another is coming up soon! ????) Woke up with a cup of coffee, glass of bcaa, fasted cardio (because I prefer it and for heart healthy reasons, it's a lifestyle not just a short term thing.) followed my usual breakfast which you can see on my IG story. ???????????? Planning to lift later this morning. — After photoshoot day it's so important for me to rehydrate (with my bcaa) since the morning of my shoot I limit water intake a little to keep from bloating. Some people may not bloat from excess water on a shoot day, but my body does. Remember everyone's body may respond differently. ???? — @bpi_sports #bpisports #bpisports #teambpi #saraheevans
