UFC 172 Preview: Jon Jones vs Glover Teixeira

If you are looking for a fight, the upcoming event on April 26 for the UFC title between Jones and Teixeira aims to please. These two top contenders will be going head to head in heated battle at the Baltimore Arena, for the UFC 172 light heavyweight battle in Maryland. Before the dust settles, there will be three other over the top cage matches, to round out the night.

The bout featuring the UFC light heavyweight defending champion Jon “Bones” Jones, matched up against the 9 year undefeated Glover Teixeira for the seventh time for the title, is a fight sure to have you on the edge of your seat and your adrenalin pumping. With the veteran Teixeira bringing such an impressive winning record, Jones has to stay on top. Even though Teixeira has an impressive showing with a killer left, Jones strikes back as the youngest UFC Champion. However, Teixeira brings with him knowledge and skill that will keep Jones ducking from the next blow. Both fighters are hungry for the title and will do whatever it takes. This fight is sure to be a long time talked about and remembered UFC match up.

The match ups following the main event promise to be just as exciting to watch. The bout scheduled for Davis and Johnson pits the power of Anthony Johnson against the determination of Phil Davis. The top ranked Davis will be a force to be reckoned with for Anthony Johnson. However, when it comes to the knock out punch, Johnson is definitely going to be hunting Phil Davis down. This match promises to deliver a multitude of hard hits and an impressive show of fighting abilities.

The last scheduled fight for the night is Rockhold vs Boetsch. Rockhold was ranked #9 middleweight at the beginning of the year with a high level of basic athletics to the ring as he delivers his punishment with no mercy for his opponent. Boetsch will not be looking for mercy as he is delivering his own brand of punishment to Rockhold in the form of a knock out. This fight promises to bring you crushing blows and deadly kicks to end out the night.

This ultimate fight lineup for the Light Heavyweight Championship between Jones and Teixeira has Glover winning the bout in my opinion. When looking at the match up between Johnson and Davis, I think that Davis will deliver the final winning blow. In the match of Rockhold vs Boetsch, my confidence goes with Rockholds powerful left has me calling him out as the winner to the bout. No matter who wins, I am looking forward to the powerhouse battles that are sure to come with this event.
