You were on our wish list of models we always wanted to work with, we think you’re a perfect fit for Fitness Gurls Magazine. Why do you believe Fitness Gurls is a good fit for you?

Thank you so much! I’m really excited and honored to be a part of the Fitness Gurls team to bring an inspirational voice to fitness where balance is key. I feel this magazine has a new and refreshing spin on fitness where both men and women are intrigued with what may pop up on it’s pages. I’m excited to share my insight on not only fitness and health, but relationships and everyday hurdles we all face. Even us fitness models struggle with putting down the ice cream!

What was your first gym experience like?

After high school when I needed to get back into the gym after gaining that annoying freshmen 15, I would try to work out with my boyfriend at the time. Ugh! Big sweaty guys lifting big heavy weights, just wasn’t my cup of tea. I found that group exercise classes really encouraged me and kept me coming back.

What are 2 goals you hope to accomplish this year?

1. Landing the cover of Fitness Gurls Magazine 2. To get my website up and running, which will provide on-line training and nutrition plans.

What’s your favorite clean meal/recipe?

I love pizza!! So when I’m craving it and don’t want to feel guilty about it the next day, I make my “Clean Pizza”:

1 Ezekiel Sprouted Grain Tortilla
3 tbls Marinara Sauce (no added sugar, low fat)
2oz low-fat (or nonfat) shredded mozzarella cheese
2-3oz grilled chicken or turkey bacon (how ever much you want to pile on)
Veggies: Sauteed mushroom, broccoli, zucchini, onions

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Warm tortilla in a pan until lightly toasted, it should be a little crispy & stiff. In a separate pan saute veggie toppings until soft, season w/ fresh garlic or garlic powder, red crushed pepper (whatever you like). Top toasted tortilla with marinara sauce, add cheese, veggie mix, and your choice of protein. Place pizza onto a baking sheet, sprayed with olive oil. Bake for 12-15 minutes until cheese is bubbling and tortilla is crisp around the edges. You can make any version of your favorite pizza., ie. Turkey bacon and pineapple or BBQ Chicken Pizza (make sure you find a low sugar and low fat BBQ sauce) Yummers!!

What drives you the most to stay in shape?

What drives me to stay in shape is of course looking great, but most importantly feeling great. I’ve found that unless you are exercising your mind and soul, the body doesn’t stay in shape for long. Staying in shape, means you are putting yourself first, you are making time to do something good for you. Whether its on a physical level, on an emotional level or a spiritual level, its important to get in-tune with all aspects of you. Its important to get your mind and soul in shape…your body will follow.
