Hiking is Equal to Happiness

Science states, toss those Prozac pills and head for the mountains and trails! Hiking not only helps you become fitter, its benefits include improved brain function and mood. “Research shows that hiking has a positive impact on combating the symptoms of stress and anxiety,” says Gregory A. Miller, Ph.D., president of the American Hiking Society.

Hiking is one of the best ways to get in tune with nature, and you are doing yourself a favor when you decide to hike over other activities. There are a lot of people who are looking for a new way to exercise, and you can try hiking instead of getting a gym membership or getting into a sport that costs thousands of dollars to try. You should give hiking a try because it allows you to commune with nature, work our regularly and refresh your soul.

Nature And Its Embrace
The most important part of hiking is that it allows you to commune with nature. A hike takes you into some of the most remote parts of the world, and you will see nature in a way that you cannot experience it otherwise. You are going to be close to the trees and the animals in the area, and you are going to be sucked into the surroundings that you find when you hike. You will feel like you are a part of the mountain, the trail, and the forest.

You will hear the quiet that overcomes you when you get into the forest, and you can hear even the crack of a tree branch when a squirrel runs away from you several hundred feet away. You will see animals that run away when you come near them, and you will see small springs or brooks that will help lead you to more interesting locations. There are beautiful little bridges on your trails, nice rock formations, and trees you can climb to get a better view of the area.

The Workout
The next step in the hiking is the workout that you get. You are trying to get into the best shape of your life, and you are going to feel the burn when you start hiking. You will push yourself pretty hard to make sure that you can get up every hill, and you will start to feel the burn on the return trip to your hike. Getting up some of the more aggressive hills is going to help you get a better workout, and you will notice your body getting more and more used to hiking the more trails you tackle.

You will get in much better shape without running, and you can take short hour-long hikes every couple days that will start to give you really nice results. You might not burn off all the calories and weight in a few hikes, but you are going to start to notice a difference in your body. You will have more stamina overall, and you will be able to use that stamina even when you are not hiking.

You Can Refresh Your Soul
Refreshing your soul is one of the most important things that you can even do for yourself. You will find a lot of people trying to find ways to refresh themselves, but it is hard for these people to find the peace and quiet that they are looking for. You can go out on a trail where it will be very quiet, and you can make sure that you are going to set aside time to get refreshed. You might only be able to hike once or twice a week, but that is the time when you can get away from it all.

You will start to feel much less anxiety, and you will start looking forward to your hikes where you are going to be able to rest and relax after a long week of work and other obligations. Your life is going to change because you are going to have guaranteed peace and quiet every week, and you are going to be able to get away from it all while getting in a workout.

You do not have to join a gym to get into better shape, and you will be able to save money because you can go out and hike at any time. Hiking is equal to happiness because it helps you refresh your soul and work out. You will have more energy when you are in better shape, and your soul will have more energy after every excursion.
