Toniann Rotante: FG Feature

How did you get started in fitness?
As soon as I was able to walk, my Dad taught me how to pitch a softball. I pitched 100 pitches a day & learned the concept of ‘mental toughness’ at a very young age. I went on to become an NCAA cheerleader at Georgia Tech and competed in my first fitness show at the age of 21.

How do you stay motivated in your career?
I work full time as an industrial engineer and I also have a fitness blog called LiftLoveLaugh. In my blog I feature other industry professionals, while also sharing my own experiences. Inspiring others keeps me motivated… when even one person reads my blog & says ‘It’s because of you I didn’t give up’, well that’s the biggest reward I could ask for.

What was your biggest challenge in your fitness journey?
I faced the biggest challenge in my fitness journey when I was diagnosed with hypothyroid in 2010.
But you know what they say… Every challenge brings us an opportunity to succeed.

What’s your favorite music to workout to?
Well my outfit says white girl & my playlist says hard af hoodlum with street cred.

What’s your favorite cheat meal?
Let’s just say whoever said nothing tastes as good as skinny feels has obviously never had pizza and chocolate.

What does your typical week in the gym look like?
Typically I do 30 minutes of cardio 6 days a week twice a day; once before I start my work day and once during my lunch break. I also lift booty & legs three times a week and upper body twice a week.

Which female fit celebrity’s physique do you admire the most?
I was actually on the same competition team as Fitness Gurl’s favorite Ana D back in 2010. Let me tell you!… As soon as I saw her she instantly became my #WCE; & when I met her she became even more beautiful.

That’s what’s great about girls of Fitness Gurls there just as beautiful on the inside as they are on the out.

What does your supplement schedule look like?
My supplement schedule consists of fish oil & primrose oil along with vitamin C, digestive enzymes.

What are you most proud of?
As a FitChick you probably already know we are our own worst critic….
You know the saying, “I wish I was as fat as the first time I thought I was fat”;
So seriously we rarely take the time to think about what we are proud of.
But if I had to take time to say what I was proud of it would be working full time in the corporate world as an engineer while also being able to inspire others by keeping up with my fitness goals.

Do you have any advice or inspirational words for someone who is aspiring to get into the fitness world?
Fitness is a lifestyle. It’s not about the destination it’s about the journey; so take time to enjoy it. And of course whoever said money doesn’t buy you happiness is wrong because money buys you protein, protein helps you build a bigger booty & that makes us FitChicks very happy.

What’s next for you?
I’m looking forward to shooting with Lee, Allen and Harry of LHGFX this summer… So hopefully you’ll be seeing more of me; Lift, Love, Laugh Toniann
