How did you get started in fitness?
On accident really, I was working at Lululemon at the time and we were supposed to come up with a BHAG (big hairy audacious goal) pondering what mine should be I was looking through a Oxygen magazine and came across a picture of Nathalia Melo and I was like “I want to have a body like hers” so knowing nothing about competing I became to research it and soon jumped right in and have never looked back.
How do you stay motivated?
Through meeting new people and learning about their own fitness journeys. And myself I’ve struggled with a lot of self doubt and by competing I’ve learned that I’m a lot stronger than I’ve ever realized and each time I compete I try to push myself more that I ever thought possible.
What’s your favorite music to workout to?
It really depends on my mood usually something upbeat to keep me moving,
What body part are you most proud of?
My back I never knew or thought I could actually have muscles back there and when I look at pictures I still can’t believe I do.
Which do you like more, being a fitness model or a fitness competitor?
Fitness competitor I love knowing that I put my best self out there.
What is the biggest fitness myth you encounter in the fitness industry every day?
That by being a bikini competitor it means you don’t have to work out too much or really diet, you just have to look good in a bikini. WRONGE!
What’s your favorite cheat meal?
With every competition I have a new craving obsession usually it’s going to Yogurt shop and going wild with topping or P28 White Chocolate peanut butter… but right now I’ve been craving movie popcorn with Bunch a Crunch!
How do you deal with cravings?
Try to remind myself of what my goal is, drink some flavored water, workout or go shopping.
What does your diet consist of?
Six small meals a day consisting of lean proteins, low fat and low glycemic carbohydrates.
What are your 3 favorite exercises?
1) Shoulder Presses because if you build up your shoulders it makes your waist look smaller.
2) Straight leg dead lifts, it’s a great way to make that booty pop.
3) Good mornings great back workout that I feel in my butt and legs too! I’m all about time management so if I can workout multiple muscles at the same time I’m all for it.
Which female fitness model’s physique do you admire the most?
Nathalia Melo and Yeshaira Robles both these women have great muscular yet feminine beautiful physiques and a undeniable eye catching stage presence to go with it.
What supplements would you use or recommend if any?
MHP’s Activite (multi-vitamin), BCAA’S, Glutamine, Isofast protein and Dopamite.
Top 5 tips for people who want to get in shape?
• Eat 5-6 small meals a day
• Drink lots of water
• Get your cardio in and don’t neglect weights
• Make 4 small goals and 1 BHAG write them down
and put them in a place where you can see them
• Believe in yourself and don’t be afraid to ask

My new BHAG (big hairy audacious goal) is to compete at the 2014 Olympia and do more fitness modeling.
